WBOI Presents: In Session Episode 014 Comic Books

Zack Kruse
Zack Kruse, Graduate Student at Michigan State University

On this episode of WBOI Presents: In Session, we are joined by Zack Kruse, a PhD candidate at Michigan State University. Our conversation focused on the subject of Kruse’s research, Steve Ditko, the creator of Spider-Man and many other well known comic book characters. This is Kruse’s third time speaking with WBOI’s Ben Clemmer, after previous conversations about Appleseed Con and Stan Lee. How did Steve Ditko’s art and writing shape comic books? How have dramatic stories featuring superheroes shown changes within our own society? That’s all on this episode of WBOI Presents: In Session.

Our theme music is by Noah Campodonico. Additional audio is provided by John Dawkins. Our web producer is Loyal Vandenburg. Our WBOI intern is Monica Blankenship. You can find other episodes of WBOI Presents: In Session here.
