Foellinger Theatre To Renovate Performer Amenity Space

Fort Wayne Parks

The Foellinger Theatre will be receiving some upgrades in 2018.

Fort Wayne City Council approved nearly $500,000 in maintenance and renovation to the theater’s performer amenity spaces. Parks and Recreation director Al Moll says concerts at the venue over the last several years helped create a reserve of extra dollars, which will go toward the project.

Deputy communications director Mitch Sheppard says Fort Wayne wants to continue attracting larger performers to the venue, and the parks department says improving the space is a good place to start.

“By using our own existing space and simply renovating what we have below grade, we’ll be able to have green rooms, dressing rooms, showers, restrooms and adequate space for catering.”

Performer amenity spaces are located on the lower level of the 68-year-old theater. Schenkel Construction was selected for the project.
