Hoosiers have about a week to register to vote if they wish to participate in the upcoming May primary elections. The deadline to register or make changes to voter registration records is by the end of the day on April 9.

According to Allen County Voter Registration, there a few ways eligible voters can register: in person by visiting your local county registration office, online by visiting indianavoters.com or by sending the word “Indiana” via a text message to the number 2-V-O-T-E.

In Indiana, the primary elections will be held on May 8 and the general election will take place on Nov. 6.

To to be eligible to register to vote, Hoosiers must have lived in their current residence for at least 30 days, be a citizen of the United States and not be imprisoned.

Voters can check the status of their voter registration and check their polling location by visiting indianavoters.com.
