Northeast Indiana To Offer Safe Drug Disposal Pouches

The City of Fort Wayne and Allen County Health Department are partnering in a new effort to combat the nation’s ongoing opioid crisis.

The Rx Abuse Leadership Initiative Indiana, also known as RALI, will provide 15,000 drug disposal kits to agencies in Northeast Indiana as a way to assist residents safely dispose of old, unused opioids and other prescriptions.

RALI Indiana launched in July, and is partnering with the Drug and Alcohol Consortium of Allen County to address opioid misuse in the region and to oversee the distribution of safe drug disposal kits.

Safe disposal pouches will be available at DACAC’s headquarters at 532 W Jefferson Boulevard, and will be distributed at community events throughout the year.
