Fort Wayne Prepares For D3 Tournament Games In March

Allen County’s War Memorial Coliseum will host the Men’s Division III NCAA Basketball Tournament, but the City of Fort Wayne is already preparing for the festivities.

The Coliseum will host the Final Four and championship games. This is the first time in history Fort Wayne has hosted an NCAA basketball tournament.

The 64 participating teams were chosen Monday night, effectively kicking off the tournament season for Division III squads. For the next several weeks, eight buildings or structures in Fort Wayne will use blue lights, in an effort to “paint the town blue” and generate enthusiasm for the tournament’s final rounds.

The tournament will make its way to the Coliseum the weekend of March 15-16.
