Aging and In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana (AIHS), announced today details for the launch of the Allen County’s Programs for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, or PACE.

The Medicare and Medicade state program will be housed at the AIHS' former office at 2927 Lake Avenue.

The aim of PACE is to assist people 55 and older in meeting their healthcare needs outside of nursing homes and other care facilities.

PACE is not limited to the center where it will be housed. The program helps participants connect with organizations that can help extend care and services within the homes of participants, thus helping them maintain independence.

AIHS President Connie Benton Wolfe says the group is excited to offer PACE services to Allen County as well as some surrounding counties.

PACE is a national program, with two centers already within Indiana -- in Mishawaka and Indianapolis. The Northeast Indiana Center is expected to be completed by the early summer of 2020.
