A
llen County now has over 600 cases of COVID-19, and 55 residents have died as of Sunday evening.
The total was up from 579 cases and 50 deaths on Friday.
Across Indiana the numbers have climbed significantly, even as Hoosiers look ahead to easing restrictions under Gov. Eric Holcomb’s second phase of reopening in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Seventeen new deaths in Indiana were recorded over the weekend, stretching from a period of time between April 17 until May 2, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
Noble County now has 83 positive COVID-19 tests, and 14 deaths.
In Wabash County, there are 60 positive cases and two deaths. According to the Wabash Plain Dealer, 46 of those positive tests are attributed to staff at the Peabody Retirement Community.
Administrators at the retirement community told the paper that they will begin voluntarily testing all of the residents of the retirement community.
