City Council Holds Off On Electric Works Investigation

Electric Works

Fort Wayne City Council will hold off on deciding whether to launch an investigation into the failed economic development agreement for the Electric Works project for the next several weeks.

The final vote to launch an investigation was due to hit the books Tuesday, but discussions of new negotiations forced Council to push the pause button.

According to At-Large Democrat Glynn Hines, RTM Ventures is currently leading an effort, possibly with new funders, towards a new deal with the city. He added that Tom Kelley of Kelley Automotive and Chuck Surack of Sweetwater are involved in the talks.

If negotiations fall through, Council is expected to launch its investigation as planned during its October 13 meeting.
