Indiana saw more than 1,000 new COVID-19 cases again this week, bringing the seven-day moving average to 1,178.

Gov. Eric Holcomb ended his weekly COVID updates effective today, and the mask mandate is scheduled to expire in about a week.

Statewide, deaths hit 3,500, with 17 new fatalities due to the illness recorded Wednesday.

In northeast Indiana, all counties but Adams are now in the yellow zone for case numbers and 7-day positivity rates. Late last month, most counties in the area were in the blue zone, representing a safer score.

Allen County officials reported 72 new cases Wednesday. Deaths have remained steady at 207 for the past few days.

Kosciusko County reported 37 new cases, Noble and Huntington counties reported 10 each, and Whitley and Steuben counties each reported nine, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.

DeKalb County officials reported 11 new cases on Wednesday.
