McMillen Health hosts webinar series to expand education efforts

MCMILLEN HEALTH

Correction: The original date listed in this story for the next webinar was incorrect.

McMillen Health has introduced a new free webinar series to help encourage education and preventative healthcare.

The series, called 20/10 Let’s Talk Health, brings in a professional to do a short twenty minute presentation on their area of expertise, followed by ten minutes of questions.

Sabrina Straessle is the director of marketing and communications for McMillen. She said this is another step in the organization’s goal to educate youth and students on preventative health.

“We are constantly thinking of ways on how we can expand and also educate, not only the people that are in Indiana, but nationwide, worldwide,” she said.

The next 20/10 webinar on March 24 will feature Barbie Vartanian from the NYU Dentistry Oral Health Center for People with Disabilities. The topic will focus on barriers to healthcare that individuals with disabilities face.

McMillen hosted their first event in February on ADHD and stress in children, a recording of which can be found on their website.

Ella Abbott is a multimedia reporter for 89.1 WBOI. She is a strong believer in the ways audio storytelling can engage an audience and create a sensory experience.
