Parkview Health’s CEO announced his retirement today (Thursday) after more than 16 years.
Mike Packnett oversaw the health system as it grew from 50 providers and 6,300 co-workers to more than 1,000 providers with 14,000 coworkers across 16 counties.
During his tenure, Parkview expanded into Wabash, Kosciusko and DeKalb counties. Parkview also added specialized cancer care and opened Parkview Regional Medical Center.
The system has also pledged to reduce costs.
As part of Packnett’s retirement, the Parkview Health Board of Directors has announced Rick Henvey, president of healthcare operations, as the new CEO.
Henvey came to Parkview in 2007 and oversees all service line and hospital operations, as well as key strategies across the health system. Before coming to Parkview, Henvey worked in healthcare in Oklahoma City, Dallas, San Antonio and Denver areas.
Packnett will retire at the end of the year. Henvey will begin in January of 2023.
