WBOI Presents: The Folktale of “Happiness As Muse”

This holiday episode of WBOI Presents comes from a partnership with Sara Fiedelholtz, Host of & Good Company. She invited WBOI’s own Julia Meek to perform a live Folktale as part of her Happiness Definitions exhibit.

We’ll dive into the origin and a behind the scenes listen of the Folktales program. After that, Julia Meek, Sean Michael Hoffman, and Ellen Coplin present the live Folktale of “Happiness as Muse,” recorded at the Jeffrey R. Krull Gallery at the Allen County Public Library.

Ben Clemmer is a Fort Wayne native and host & producer for 89.1 WBOI. He is the local host of All Things Considered and hosts and produces WBOI Presents. The show can be heard on Wednesdays at 7pm and Saturdays at 7am. In addition to producing local programs like news roundups, panels, lectures, and storytelling showcases, he also lends his voice to underwriting, promos, and other projects at the station. Ben has also reported on a variety of topics and has written stories on energy, conspiracy theories, student movements, protests, elections, sports, arts, and entertainment. In February of 2019, Ben created and produced a series called WBOI Presents: In Session. The program showcases local educators speaking about topics within their expertise, and can be found on multiple podcast platforms. Additional podcasts Ben produces include WBOI Presents, WBOI's Behind The Mic, WBOI Artcentric, WBOI Politics Podcast, and Act of Listening. Ben is regularly on the lookout for podcast creators to partner with WBOI. In 2020, WBOI began partnerships with Women Are: Fort Wayne, Heart of the Hustle, and & Good Company.
A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for forty years. Besides being WBOI's arts & culture reporter, she currently co-producers and hosts Folktales and Meet the Music.
