The 2024 race for Indiana governor is officially underway. Republican Eric Doden announced Thursday he’s running for the state’s highest office.

Doden said he’s forming a campaign committee in a bid for governor because he has a passion for “growing Indiana main streets.”

The Fort Wayne businessman previously served as then-Gov. Mike Pence’s Indiana Economic Development Corporation president.

In a statement announcing his campaign, Doden said he’ll bring his “no-nonsense” approach to the race, helping create “21st century economic opportunities” for Indiana families.

The seat is open in 2024 – Gov. Eric Holcomb is term-limited.
