Soirée's founder, Brent Drake enjoys connecting Fort Wayne to the wealth of grassroots music in the area.

Fort Wayne's local music scene is an active one, and an agency called Soiréeis dedicated to bringing more of that music to Northeast Indiana.

Its owner, Brent Drake is proving it this weekend, with a one night, ten-act event he calls "Can Opener" at The Philmore on Broadway, sponsored by Sweetwater, showcasing ten local bands, all less than one year old.

WBOI's Julia Meek met with Drake earlier this week to discuss the concert, and his own musical goals and motivations.
