Fort Wayne Artists Invite Crafty D.I.Y Types To Go "Photanical"

Photanical founders, Eden Mickelson and Ruth Yaro are gratified to offer, as they call it, "a safe space to try something new."

Fort Wayne natives, Eden Mickelson and Ruth Yaro have a passion for botanical beauty and photography they love to share with like-minded women in the form of hands-on workshops.

They decided to mix business with pleasure just a year ago, and their smash-up concept, "Photanical," was born. The duo welcomes all skill levels, from green thumbs to all thumbs, to come together, join in the fun, and create something new.

WBOI's Julia Meek invited Ruth and Eden into the studio, to share their thoughts on the importance of such communal D.I.Y pursuits, as well as a few tips on preserving those beautiful Valentinian bouquets on the horizon.

To learn more about Photanical's past and future workshops, visit its Facebook page.

A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for forty years. Besides being WBOI's arts & culture reporter, she currently co-produces and hosts Folktales and Meet the Music.
