Fort Wayne Resident Finds Creative Paths To Freedom As Travel Adventurer

Credit Courtesy/Teresa Roberts
Competa, Spain, the very first stop on Teresa's initial travel adventure.

About thirteen years  ago, Teresa Roberts took an early retirement from her elementary school principal position in Maine, and developed a creative lifestyle that began by selling her home and belongings, becoming debt free, and setting out as a world nomad.

Teresa and husband, Gary, on a recent visit to Dublin's Trinity College.

Now that she's hooked on the traveler's life, she continues to enjoy extended periods of travel each year, basing out of an apartment she keeps in Spain, and touring wherever the whim takes her, in what she calls "untourist" mode.

When WBOI's Julia Meek leaned that Roberts has actually written how-to's and travel blogs on the technique she devised and refined, and now spends her down time in Fort Wayne, she invited Teresa into the studio to discuss how the odyssey has impacted her life, and to share some of the fine points of her passion.
