Fort Wayne Community Schools is inviting the public to give feedback on the search for a new superintendent, as well as the direction of the district in general.
The FWCS board hired an education consulting firm to assist in finding a replacement for long-time Superintendent Wendy Robinson, who will be retiring at the end of June.
The firm is hosting a series of three public meetings next week to solicit ideas on Robinson’s replacement, as well as what the board should consider going forward, according to a press release from the district.
Robinson has been employed by the district for 47 years, with the last 17 as superintendent.
The input-gathering meetings will be held:
- Tuesday at 6 p.m. at South Side High School, 3601 S. Calhoun St.
- Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Family and Community Engagement Center, 230 E. Douglas Ave.
- Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. at Northrup High School, 7001 Coldwater Road.
Anyone unable to attend the meetings is invited to submit their thoughts via a short survey by Friday.
With 50 schools and a $305 million budget, the district is made up of nearly 30,000 students and 4,000 employees.
