Allen County recorded another 128 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, bringing the county’s total to 9,803.
Like the rest of the state, Allen County officials are testing more people than were tested weeks ago. On Sept. 30, there were 1,390 tests administered in Allen County. On Oct. 27, there were 2,287 tested.
The current positivity rate for Allen County is at 10.6 percent. Throughout northeast Indiana, the positivity rate is well above 9 percent on average.
Statewide, there have been 3,080 new cases of the illness reported. Twenty eight new deaths were reported as well.
That brings the state’s totals to 185,185 positive cases, and 4,150 Hoosiers have died.
Monday's numbers come after another weekend of rising counts and more deaths.
Nearly 6,300 Hoosiers were diagnosed with COVID-19 Friday and Saturday, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.
Seventy-three deaths were reported in that time frame as well.
In Allen County, 353 residents tested positive for the illness. Allen County health officials report 235 deaths, but the Indiana State Department of Health has added two additional deaths to Allen County’s total.
Only LaGrange County saw a rate of new COVID-19 infections below 10, with five new infections reported Saturday into Sunday.
All other northeast Indiana counties saw the number of new cases reported Sunday between 13 in Noble County to 45 in Kosciusko County.
Mnday's new virus totals for northeast Indiana counties are:
- Adams County: 14 new cases for 719 total, one new death
- Allen County: 128 new cases for 9,803 total
- DeKalb County: 67 new cases for 962 total, one new death
- Huntington County: 14 new cases for 566 total
- Kosciusko County: 75 new cases for 2,421 total
- LaGrange County: 11 new cases for 889 total, one new death
- Noble County: 36 new cases for 1,393 total
- Steuben County: 11 new cases for 762 total
- Wabash County: 40 new cases for 603 total
- Wells County: five new cases for 567 total
- Whitley County: eight new cases for 581 total
