As Indiana residents approach nearly a month since stay-at-home measures have been put into effect around the state, some city government operations are going digital.
Northeast Indiana officials are asking residents for input online for the updated All-In Allen comprehensive plan, a collaborative effort between Fort Wayne and other Allen County communities like Grabill, Huntertown and Woodburn.
Established in 2007, local officials announced their intent to update the All-In Allen plan to be more reflective of each community’s contemporary needs.
Public input is a key part of the process, which is a problem amid the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic: a series of public meetings up to May 3 were postponed almost as soon as stay-at-home efforts began.
Now, Fort Wayne and Allen County are offering a questionnaire to residents in an effort to keep the project going, despite the circumstances. The questions asks for opinions on land use, housing, transportation, parks and more in Northeast Indiana.
