Screenshot of Indiana Department of Health

Eight-four Allen County residents have died from COVID-19. More than 2,100 have tested positive for the disease.

While the number of new cases reported statewide appear to be levelling off, northeast Indiana’s numbers seem to be climbing, particularly in Steuben, LaGrange, DeKalb and Noble counties, as well as Allen County.

LaGrange County now has 235 cases of the virus, a rate of 59.3 per 10,000 residents. For comparison, Adams County has an infection rate of 6.7 cases per 10,000 residents, with a total of 24 cases.

Allen County’s rate is about 56 positive cases per 10,000 residents. Noble County’’s rate is 66.6 per 10,000 residents.

Indiana moved to Stage 4 of its Back on Track plan for reopening Friday, allowing social gatherings of up to 250 people. Restaurant dining rooms can open at 75% capacity and bars and nightclubs may open at 50% capacity.
