Health officials reported three Allen County deaths due to COVID-19 over the weekend, bringing the total to 87.

Two more deaths were also reported in Noble County, bringing that county’s total to 27. More than 330 positive cases of the novel coronavirus have been reported.

Allen County now has 2,195 cases of COVID-19. Infection rates in all northeast Indiana counties continue to increase.

On Friday, Allen County’s infection rate was 56 per 10,000 residents. On Sunday, it was up to nearly 58. Noble County went from 66.6 to 69.3, according to the state.

This comes as Gov. Eric Holcomb made the decision to move to stage four of Indiana’s Back on Track plan two days earlier than planned, on Friday instead of Sunday.

Five new long-term care facilities reported at least one death, according to state statistics.
