As Indiana moved into Stage Five of the state’s reopening plan Wednesday due to improving COVID-19 numbers, northeast Indiana saw continued improvement as well.

One new death was reported Wednesday, in Wells County. Three people have died in Wells County from the illness, and 250 have tested positive, an increase of two from Tuesday.

Elsewhere in northeast Indiana, positivity numbers held steady or dropped, according to the dashboard from the Indiana State Department of Health.

LaGrange County now has the best weekly score in the area, with zero and a weekly positivity rate of 3.9 percent.

Wells, Adams, Whitley, Wabash and Kosciusko counties are all also scored low for declining positivity rates.

Thirty-five new cases were reported in Allen County Wednesday. A total of 6,064 residents have tested positive for COVID-19.
