Positivity rates continued to decline in northeast Indiana on Friday, as did the total number of COVID-19 cases reported.
Hospitalizations were down to 175 throughout the region.
Only two deaths were reported--one each in LaGrange and Whitley counties.
Whitley County remains the highest for positivity within the region, with a 7-day rate of 15.5 percent, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
According to detailed maps, Columbia City remains the area of Whitley County with the highest percentage of COVID-19 cases.
There is only 17.5 percent of the area’s ICU capacity remaining, with 64 percent of the beds taken up by non-COVID patients, according to health statistics.
Statewide, hospitalizations are down to 2,151, the lowest number since early November.
Northeast Indiana totals for Jan. 22:
- Adams County: 6 new cases for 2,996 total. No new deaths for 35 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.3%.
- Allen County: 153 new cases for 32,700 total. No new deaths for 547 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.3%.
- DeKalb County: 17 new cases for 3,489 total. No new deaths for 73 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.8%.
- Huntington County: 21 new cases for 2,906 total. No new deaths for 59 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.9%.
- Kosciusko County: 29 new cases for 8,031 total. No new deaths for 82 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.0%.
- LaGrange County: 8 new cases for 2,276 total. One new death for 62 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.0%.
- Noble County: 34 new cases for 4,712 total. No new deaths for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.6%.
- Steuben County: 15 new cases for 3,130 total. No new deaths for 45 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.1%.
- Wabash County: 17 new cases at 3,014 total. No new deaths for 47 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.9%.
- Wells County: 7 new cases for 2,340 total. No new deaths for 50 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.7%.
- Whitley County: 28 new cases for 3,045 total. One new death for 26 total. 7-day positivity rate at 15.5%.
