Only Whitley and Steuben counties remain in the red for Indiana’s county metrics for COVID-19.
The designation is a combination of the number of cases per 100,000, as well as 7-day positivity rates.
Whitley County has the highest 7-day positivity rate in northeast Indiana, at 14.1 percent.
Throughout northeast Indiana, the number of new COVID-19 cases reported on Tuesday were at their lowest since late October, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
Allen County added 10 new deaths to its total of those lost to the illness, bringing its total to 561. There is frequently a lag between state and local death counts, according to the Allen County Department of Health.
There are 28 percent of the area’s ICU beds remaining, with 147 residents of the area hospitalized due to COVID-19.
Northeast Indiana totals are:
- Adams County: 9 new cases for 3,036 total. No new deaths for 36 total. 7-day positivity at 5.9%.
- Allen County: 124 new cases for 33,165 total. 10 new deaths for 561 total. 7-day positivity at 9.9%.
- DeKalb County: (day's total unknown per local health information) for 3,544 total. No new deaths for 73 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.2%.
- Huntington County: 11 new cases for 2,957 total. No new deaths for 60 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.8%.
- Kosciusko County: 14 new cases for 8,114 total. 2 new deaths for 85 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.5%.
- LaGrange County: 2 new cases for 2,303 total. 1 new death for 63 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.6%.
- Noble County: 7 new cases for 4,761 total. No new deaths for 59 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.3%.
- Steuben County: 8 new cases for 3,158 total. No new deaths for 46 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.4%.
- Wabash County: 11 new cases for 3,069 total. No new deaths for 51 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.1%.
- Wells County: 5 new cases for 2,375 total. No new deaths for 51 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.9%.
- Whitley County: 20 new cases for 3,131 total. No new deaths for 26 total. 7-day positivity rate at 14.1%.
