Whitley County is the only northeast Indiana county remaining in the “red” on the statewide dashboard for it’s COVID-19 status.
It has the highest positivity rate for the past seven days in all of northeast Indiana, at 15.5 percent. The average positivity rate for northeast Indiana is at 9.2 percent.
Six deaths were reported around the region on Wednesday, with two in Allen County and one each in Adams, Huntington and Wells counties.
There were 310 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the area from Tuesday into Wednesday, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
Those between the ages of 50-59 make up the largest group of those infected in northeast Indiana, at 16 percent.
Hospitalizations both statewide and in the area were down on Wednesday, to 140 in northeast Indiana.
That is the lowest number since Oct. 16.

- Allen County: 135 new cases for 33,300 total. Two deaths for 563 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.3%.
- DeKalb County: 23 new cases for 3,567 total. No new deaths for 73 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.9%.
- Huntington County: 27 new cases for 2,984 total. One new death for 61 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.3%.
- Kosciusko County: 27 new cases for 8,140 total No new deaths for 85 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.8%.
- LaGrange County: 6 new cases for 2,309 total. No new deaths for 63 total. 7-day positivity rate at 14.2%.
- Noble County: 13 new cases for 4,774 total. No new deaths for 59 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.3%.
- Steuben County: 7 new cases for 3,165 total. No new deaths for 46 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.7%.
- Wabash County: 20 new cases at 3,089 total. No new deaths for 51 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.9%.
- Wells County: 4 new cases for 12,379 total. One new death for 52 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.5%.
- Whitley County: 31 new cases for 3,162 total. No new deaths for 26 total. 7-day positivity rate at 15.5%.
