Whitley County’s 7-day positivity rate again went up on Monday, according to Tuesday’s update of the Indiana COVID-19 dashboard.
With a positivity rate of 17.9 percent, the county remains one of Indiana’s most infectious for COVID-19, measured by cases per 100,000 residents and positivity rate.
Attempts to speak with Whitley County health officials about the current rates have been unsuccessful.
A dozen new deaths were reported in Allen County on Tuesday due to delays in reporting, according to the Allen County Department of Health.
That brings Allen County’s total of those lost to COVID-19 to 577.
Overall, the number of cases reported around northeast Indiana continue to trend downward, with Allen County recording less than 100 cases for the third straight day. Allen County’s 7-day positivity rate is at 8 percent.
There are 120 northeast Indiana residents hospitalized with COVID-19, and ICU capacity in the area is at 30.4 percent.
Northeast Indiana totals include:
- Adams County: 7 new cases for 3,095 total. 1 new death for 38 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.5%.
- Allen County: 95 new cases for 33,943 total. 12 new deaths for 577 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8%.
- DeKalb County: 10 new cases for 3,637 total. No new deaths for 73 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.5%.
- Huntington County: 6 new cases for 3,082 total. No new deaths for 63 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.2%.
- Kosciusko County: 13 new cases for 8,227 total. No new deaths for 85 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.9%.
- LaGrange County: 3 new cases for 2,356 total. No new deaths for 63 total. 7-day positivity rate at 13.3%.
- Noble County: 9 new cases for 4,855 total. No new deaths for 59 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.3%.
- Steuben County: 9 new cases for 3,209 total. 1 new death for 48 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.1%.
- Wabash County: 6 new cases for 3,137 total. No new deaths for 51 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.9%.
- Wells County: 5 new cases for 2,411 total. No new deaths for 53 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.6%.
- Whitley County: 14 new cases for 3,243 total. No new deaths for 26 total. 7-day positivity rate at 17.9%
