Northeast Indiana’s 7-day COVID-19 positivity rate was down again Thursday, sitting at 8.2 percent.
Whitley County, the area’s stubborn hotspot for the spread of the disease, also saw a decline in positivity, down from 16.6 percent to 15.4 percent.
COVID-19 hospitalizations were at 127 for the area.
The Indiana Department of Health conducted a state-wide audit of all suspected COVID-19 deaths from 2020 and 2021 to date.
That audit caused the state’s death totals to jump over 11,000 with the addition of 1,507 historic deaths to the tally on Thursday.
Allen County’s total number of COVID-19 deaths on the state’s dashboard is more than 20 individuals greater than the one released by the county health department on Thursday, at 604 verses 578.
Northeast Indiana's totals for Feb. 4:
- Adams County: 12 new cases for 3,120 total. No new deaths for 46 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.6%.
- Allen County: 138 new cases for 34,160 total. *No new deaths for 578 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.2%.
- DeKalbe County: 15 new cases for 3,665 total. No new deaths for 73 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.9%.
- Huntington County: 32 new cases for 3,138 total. 3 new deaths for 71 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.8%.
- Kosciusko County: 9 new cases for 8,254 total. No new deaths for 98 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.1%.
- LaGrange County: 4 new cases for 2,365 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.7%.
- Noble County: 17 new cases for 4,891 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.5%.
- Steuben County: 13 new cases for 3,234 total. No new deaths for 55 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.1%.
- Wabash County: 9 new cases for 3,156 total. No new deaths for 64 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.5%.
- Wells County: 10 new cases for 2,423 total. No new deaths for 64 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.7%.
- Whitley County: 13 new cases for 3,267 total. No new deaths for 34 total. 7-day positivity rate at 15.4%.
