COVID-19 Hospitalizations Below 100 In Northeast Indiana

Hospitalizations continue to drop statewide as the battle against COVID-19 carries on.

And Whitley County is finally out of the red for community spread, according to the Indiana Department of Health COVID-19 dashboard.

 

All northeast Indiana counties are now in the orange or yellow, according to the state’s rating system which measures cases per 100,000 residents and 7-day positivity rates.

 

Whitley County’s 7-day positivity rate was down to 10.7 percent on Friday, and left Steuben County with the highest rate, at 11.4 percent.

 

On Friday, there were 98 northeast Indiana residents hospitalized with COVID-19, the first time that number has been below 100 since Oct. 1.

 

The 7-day positivity rate for northeast Indiana is at 7.5 percent.

 

Six deaths were reported across the region, according to state and local health department data.

 

Noble County is offering a vaccine hotline to help county residents register for a vaccine. Noble County residents can call 260-508-0232 during clinic hours for help in signing up for the vaccine.

 

Northeast Indiana totals:

  • Adams County: 7 new cases for 3,163 total. No new deaths for 48 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.8%.
  • Allen County: 91 new cases for 34,947 total. No new deaths for 617 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.6%.
  • DeKalb County: 18 new cases for 3,763 total. 1 new death for 75 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.1%.
  • Huntington County: 21 new cases for 3,290. 1 new death for 75 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.3%.
  • Kosciusko County: 12 new cases at 8,403 total. 2 new deaths for 105 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.5%.
  • LaGrange County: 1 new cases for 2,375 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.6%.
  • Noble County: 11 new cases for 4,979 total. No new deaths for 74 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.8%.
  • Steuben County:  8 new cases for 3,300 total. No new deaths for 55 total. 7-day positivity rate at 11.4%.
  • Wabash County: 4 new cases for 3,237 total. 1 new death for 73 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.5%.
  • Wells County: 10 new cases for 2,479 total. 1 new death for 71 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.7%.
  • Whitley County: 9 new cases for 3,373 total. No new deaths for 35 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.7%.
