COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to drop throughout northeast Indiana and the rest of the state on Tuesday.
There are 48 individuals hospitalized in northeast Indiana, and 628 statewide. For northeast Indiana, it is the second day with a record-setting low for COVID hospitalizations. Statewide, it was another day of decline, and the lowest number since July.
Indiana began tracking COVID-19 hospitalizations in early April.
There were an additional four deaths reported in northeast Indiana counties outside of Allen County. Allen County added an additional 9 deaths to the COVID-19 tally in another reconciliation of state and local fatality data.
There were 85 new cases of COVID-19 reported in the area, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
Steuben County’s 7-day positivity rate remains the highest in the area, at 6.8 percent. Kosciusko County’s rate is the lowest at 2.4 percent.
Seven area counties saw their 7-day positivity rate inch upward in Tuesday’s update. LaGrange County’s went from 2.8 percent reported Monday from Sunday to 4 percent Tuesday from Monday.
Allen County’s 7-day positivity rate was up from 4.1 percent to 4.5 percent.

- Adams County: 3 new cases for 3,273 total. 1 new death for 50 total. 7-day positivity at 4.8%.
- Allen County: 38 new cases for 36,348 total. 9 new deaths for 647 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.5%.
- DeKalb County: 2 new cases for 3,922 total. No new deaths for 76 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.6%.
- Huntington County: 9 new cases for 3,520 total. 1 new death for 78 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.1%.
- Kosciusko County: 15 new cases for 8,615 total. No new deaths for 111 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.4%.
- LaGrange County: 1 new cases for 2,427 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4%.
- Noble County: 1 new cases for 5,141 total. No new deaths for 78 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.4%.
- Steuben County: 3 new case for 3,409 total. 1 new death for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.8%.
- Wabash County: No new cases for 3,340 total. No new deaths for 76 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.5%.
- Wells County: 10 new cases for 2,602 total. No new deaths for 76 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.7%.
- Whitley County: 3 new cases for 3,531 total. 1 new death for 39 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.2%.
