April 9: No New COVID Deaths Reported In NE Indiana

No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in northeast Indiana on Friday.

For the third straight day in a row, the number of new COVID-19 cases reported statewide were up over 1,000, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

In northeast Indiana, there were 190 new cases reported Friday from Thursday.

The area’s 7-day positivity rate stood at 5.7 percent, another one-tenth of a percentage decline from the previous day.

Kosciusko County saw 34 new cases reported Friday, the highest total since Feb. 5.

Every county in northeast Indiana reported new cases on Friday.

The statewide positivity rate for the past 7-days was up another one-tenth of a percentage, to 4.7 percent.

Roughly 25 percent of the state’s population over the age of 16 has been fully vaccinated, for a total of 1.35 million Hoosiers so far.

Northeast Indiana totals for April 9:

  • Adams County: 2 new cases for 3,364 total. No new deaths for 52 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.5%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 23.8%.
  • Allen County: 98 new cases for 38,571 total. No new deaths for 666 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.7%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 22.7%.
  • DeKalb County: 8 new cases for 4,049 total. No new deaths for 83 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.8%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 21.5%.
  • Huntington County: 5 new cases for 3,710 total. No new deaths for 80 total. 7-day positivity rate at 1.9%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 27.2%.
  • Kosciusko County: 34 new cases for 8,986 total. No new deaths for 112 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.2%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 19.5%.
  • LaGrange County: 6 new cases for 2,492 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.3%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 15.1%.
  • Noble County: 10 new cases for 5,323 total. No new deaths for 83 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.4%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 19.7%.
  • Steuben County: 9 new cases for 3,575 total. No new deaths for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.1%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 30.9%.
  • Wabash County: 7 new cases for 3,443 total. No new deaths for 77 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.4%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 24.1%.
  • Wells County: 4 new cases for 2,830 total. No new deaths for 80 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.9%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 22.8%.
  • Whitley County: 7 new cases for 3,705 total. No new deaths for 39 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.8%. Total of county population older than 16 fully vaccinated 24.3%.
