April 13: Steuben County Vaccinates More Than 31 Percent Against COVID

One new COVID-19 death was reported from Monday to Tuesday in Kosciusko County.

 

COVID-19 hospitalizations throughout northeast Indiana stood at 81 on Tuesday, among the 881 statewide.

 

The state’s 7-day positivity rate is at 4.9 percent, and in northeast Indiana it was 5.9 percent.

 

There are 1.43 million Hoosiers fully-vaccinated against COVID, and in northeast Indiana it is Steuben County with the highest percentage at 31.8 percent.

 

Allen County reported 92 new cases of COVID on Tuesday, according to county health data.

 

Kosciusko County reported 15 and Huntington County 12, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

 

The area’s highest 7-day positivity rate is in Steuben County, with 9.7 percent. 

 

Huntington, DeKalb, LaGrange and Adams counties are ranked as the area’s safest counties for community spread, using the state’s two-pronged metric measuring 7-day positivity rates and cases per 100,000 residents.

 

Northeast Indiana totals for April 13:

  • Adams County: 4 new cases for 3,374 total. No new deaths for 52 total. 7-day positivity rate at 1.8%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 25.3%.
  • Allen County: 92 new cases for 38,896 total. No new deaths for 666 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.8%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 25.1%.
  • DeKalb County: 5 new cases for 4,084 total. No new deaths for 83 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.8%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 22.5%.
  • Huntington County: 12 new cases for 3,751 total. No new deaths for 81 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.3%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 28.4%.
  • Kosciusko County: 15 new cases for 9.037 total. 1 new death for 113 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.2%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 20.6%
  • LaGrange County: No new cases for 2,501 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.8%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 15.7%.
  • Noble County: 7 new cases for 5,355 total. No new deaths for 83 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.6%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 21.3%.
  • Steuben County: 7 new cases for 3,607 total. No new deaths for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.7%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 31.8%.
  • Wabash County: 5 new cases for 3,457 total. No new deaths for 77 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.4%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 24.7%.
  • Wells County: 4 new cases for 2,844 total. No new deaths for 80 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.3%. Percentage of county fully vaccinated 23.7%.
  • Whitley County: 6 new cases for 3,739 total. No new deaths for 39 total. 7-day positivity rate at 25.4%.
