A one-stop community resource access center is now open in Rudisill Plaza, 201 E. Rudisill, to make utilizing services easier for Allen County residents.

CONNECT Allen County had its grand opening Tuesday in the lower level of the plaza. The office serves as a one-stop shop for access to professional providers.

Kylie Riecken is the Allen County System of Care coordinator who led a committee to create the location.

“This really came because we realized that a lot of people in our community don’t know what services and resources are available to them and, if they do know, then they don’t know how to access those resources,” she said.

CONNECT’s services are available to anyone in the community and is the first access site of its kind in Indiana. Thirteen professional providers have offices in the building to provide immediate, on-site support.

Services in the building offer support for housing, employment, food, healthcare, counseling, family support and more. All of the staff is bilingual in English and Spanish, and have local organizations to assist with other languages.

Riecken said the idea is to make a place that’s easier to remember where people can go for any support they need, regardless of age, gender or economic status.
