No new COVID-19 deaths were reported in northeast Indiana on Friday.

There were 91 new cases reported, according to the Indiana Department of Health.

Only LaGrange County saw no new cases reported on Friday, and Allen County reported the most, with 47.

Northeast Indiana’s 7-day positivity rate is around 4.3 percent, with 67 area residents hospitalized due to the virus.

Statewide, there are 788 Hoosiers hospitalized with COVID, and the state’s positivity rate for the past 7 days stands at 4.9 percent.

Nearly 2.4 million Hoosiers have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Indiana’s vaccination dashboard now includes information on breakthrough cases of COVID, defined as positive tests at least 14 days after final vaccination dose.

So far there have been 1,193 breakthrough COVID cases, around 0.05 percent of those fully vaccinated.

In recognition of the continued decline of COVID cases and positivity rates, the Roman Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend has lifted the “dispensation from the obligation of Mass.” And so beginning the weekend of June 12 and 13, all practicing Catholics in the area are obliged to return to Mass.
