General Motors 'It's Worth a Shot' Campaign Helps Employees Get Vaccinated

General Motors

General Motors has been working with local health officials and business leaders to help get its employees vaccinated and keep them safe from COVID-19.

GM developed an internal campaign to help educate the community and its employees about COVID-19 and the vaccines.

Dr. Steve Price is Indiana Health Centers Medical Director for General Motors. He says the campaign, called ‘It’s Worth a Shot,’ focuses on encouragement and support.

“The campaign basically addressed employee concerns like ‘is it safe?’ Hoping to build confidence among our employees," Dr. Price said. "What they could do to get a vaccine, what could make the process easy. And then, in the end, really what’s in it for them, promoting personal stories about getting back to life.”

Dr. Price says the campaign gave a platform to leaders and other employees to talk about why they’d gotten the vaccine and how it benefited them.

GM also gave a $65,000 grant to Community Harvest Food Bank specifically for COVID relief and has worked with Meijer Pharmacy to host vaccine clinics for employees. Dr. Price says over two days they immunized about 200 people.
