Four families suing Northwest Allen County Schools over a COVID-19 masking requirement have reached an “amicable resolution.”

Filed in September 2021, the Allen Superior Court lawsuit was one of many skirmishes between parents and school officials on a variety of topics from health precautions to textbooks.

The parents argued the health precautions put in place by the school district and other officials imposed unlawful and unconstitutional restrictions on students.

District officials disagreed.

On Monday, school officials announced the resolution of the lawsuit against the school corporation, school board members, and district employees.

The case remains pending against the Indiana Department of Health, Indiana Health Commissioner Dr. Kris Box, the Allen County Health Department, Allen County Health Commissioner Dr. Matthew Sutter and two unnamed defendants.
