Allen County Sheriff Under Investigation For Festival Incident

Allen County Sheriff's Department

The Allen County Prosecutor’s Office has asked a special prosecutor to investigate an incident involving Allen County Sheriff David Gladieux that occurred on July 16 at the Three Rivers Festival in downtown Fort Wayne.

According to a press release from the prosecutor’s office, Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings has accepted the request to serve as the special prosecutor.

Little information has been made available through area law enforcement agencies, however WPTA has reported that Gladieux allegedly pushed a teenage volunteer in an area near temporary bathrooms.

A Republican, Gladieux is serving his second term as Allen County’s sheriff, having been first elected in 2014. Prior to serving as the elected sheriff, Gladieux served as the Chief Deputy for Sheriff Ken Fries.
