Area Positivity Down To 5.7 Percent For COVID

The 7-day COVID-19 positivity rate across northeast Indiana was down to 5.7 percent on Tuesday.

 

Allen County recorded seven additional deaths on Tuesday, reconciling state and local data and bringing the total to 632, according to the Allen County Department of Health.

 

There were 82 northeast Indiana residents hospitalized with COVID-19 on Tuesday, among the 873 statewide.

 

Indiana’s total 7-day positivity rate is down to 4.1 percent.

 

The highest positivity rate in northeast Indiana belongs to Whitley County, at 9.2 percent. DeKalb County has the next highest number, with 8.9 percent.

 

Wabash County is at 2.2 percent, and Kosciusko County at 3.3 percent.

 

Allen County stands at 6 percent, and has a total of 35,637 cases of COVID-19.

 

Indiana opened vaccinations to those ages 60 and over on Tuesday. So far nearly 460,000 Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated.

 

Northeast Indiana statistics for Feb. 23: 

  • Adams County: 2 new cases for 3,202 total. No new deaths for 49 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.3%.
  • Allen County: 59 new cases for 35,637 total. 7 new deaths for 632 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6%.
  • DeKalb County: 6 new cases for 3,856 total. No new deaths for 75 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.9%.
  • Huntington County: 6 new cases for 3,381 total. No new deaths for 76 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.2%.
  • Kosciuso County: 10 new cases for 8,514 total. No new deaths for 107 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.3%.
  • LaGrange County: No new cases for 2,401 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.2%.
  • Noble County: 7 new cases for 5,067 total. No new deaths for 75 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.2%.
  • Steuben County: 6 new cases for 3,359 total. No new deaths for 55 total. 7-day positivity rate at 8.2%.
  • Wabash County: 2 new cases for 3,287 total. No new deaths for 75 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.2%.
  • Wells County: 5 new cases for 2,553 total. No new deaths for 74 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.5%.
  • Whitley County: 7 new cases for 3,462 total. No new deaths for 35 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.2%.
