Indiana Native Tracks The Freedom Riders And Their Message

Indiana native, B.J. Hollars, now a professor of English at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, has a deep interest in the American civil rights movement and flair for creative nonfiction that have converged in a new book called "The Road South: Personal Stories of the Freedom Riders."

When WBOI's Julia Meek learned that Hollars was in town for an author visit at the downtown Public Library, she invited him into the studio to discuss how his interest in this important part of America's history developed, and where the journey has led.
