June 1: COVID Positivity Numbers Stay Lower

Northeast Indiana’s 7-day positivity rate for COVID-19 stood at about 4 percent on Tuesday, among the lowest numbers for the past six months.

There were 47 new cases reported in the area on Tuesday, and no new deaths.

 

Statewide, the highest number of those infected with COVID are between the ages of 20 and 29. 

 

In northeast Indiana, the totals are split relatively evenly between those aged 0 to 59, according to the state department of health.

 

About 43 percent of Hoosiers have been fully vaccinated, about 2.5 million people.

 

LaGrange County’s vaccination rate is stuck at around 21 percent, and has not changed for weeks.

 

Huntington County has the highest rate of vaccination at 47.7 percent.

 

There are 48 residents of northeast Indiana hospitalized with the illness, among the 705 statewide.

 

Northeast Indiana totals for June 1:

  • Adams County: 2 new cases for 3,445 total. No new deaths for 55 total. 7-day positivity rate at 0.7%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 31.8%.
  • Allen County: 24 new cases for 41,588 total. No new deaths for 683 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.2%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 42.7%.
  • DeKalb County: 1 new case for 4,397 total. No new deaths for 85 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.5%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 36.6%.
  • Huntington County: 2 new cases for 4,004 total. No new deaths for 80 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.6%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 47.7%.
  • Kosciusko County: 4 new cases for 9,571 total. No new deaths for 117 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 33.6%.
  • LaGrange County: 1 new case for 2,720 total. No new deaths for 72 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.3%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 21.5%.
  • Noble County: 1 new case for 5,746 total. No new deaths for 85 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.4%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 32.5%.
  • Steuben County: 3 new cases for 3,952 total. No new deaths for 59 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.4%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 40.9%.
  • Wabash County: 5 new cases for 3,589 total. No new deaths for 82 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.5%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 35.2%.
  • Wells County: 2 new cases for 2,940 total. No new deaths for 80 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.1%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 36.6%.
  • Whitley County: 3 new cases for 4,035 total. No new deaths for 40 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.6%. Total of eligible population fully vaccinated 40.1%.
