Allen County joins Adams, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Wabash and Wells counties with the best scores for COVID-19 safety according to the state’s dashboard.
The counties are now all designated “blue” on the dashboard, which measures 7-day positivity rates and cases per 100,000 residents. Blue is the state’s best score, followed by yellow, then orange, and red as the most dangerous.
All other northeast Indiana counties are in the yellow.
Two new deaths were reported Wednesday in northeast Indiana, and there were 128 new cases reported in the area.
The area’s 7-day positivity score is at 4.3 percent, and there are 47 individuals hospitalized with the illness in northeast Indiana.
Statewide, the positivity rate is at 3.1 percent, and hospitalizations ticked up a few to 657, according to the Indiana Department of Health.
Northeast Indiana totals for March 10:
- Adams County: 10 new cases for 3,283 total. No new deaths for 10 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.2%.
- Allen County: 68 new cases for 36,416 total. No new deaths for 647 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.7%.
- DeKalb County: 5 new cases for 3,927 total. 1 new death for 77 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.4%.
- Huntington County: 10 new cases for 3,527 total. No new deaths for 78 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.8%.
- Kosciusko County: 7 new cases for 8,622 total. 1 new death for 112 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.1%.
- LaGrange County: 3 new cases for 2,430 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.8%.
- Noble County: 5 new cases for 5,146 total. No new deaths for 78 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.3%.
- Steuben County: 4 new cases for 3,413 total. No new deaths for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.2%.
- Wabash County: 2 new cases for 3,342 total. No new deaths for 76 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.2%.
- Wells County: 7 new cases for 2,609 total. No new deaths for 76 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3%.
- Whitley County: 7 new cases for 3,538 total. No new deaths for 39 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.9%.
