Two more deaths due to COVID-19 were reported in northeast Indiana on Tuesday, in Allen and Noble counties.
That brings the total of lives lost to the virus within the region to 1,422, according to state and local health department data.
Eighty-nine new cases were reported in northeast Indiana on Tuesday, with a 7-day positivity rate of 5.8 percent.
New cases reported through the Indiana Department of Health have begun to decline again, after a bump up over recent weeks.
Sixty-five area residents are hospitalized with COVID in the area, among the 880 hospitalized statewide.
More than 2.1 million Hoosiers have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
Thirty-five percent of the state’s ICU capacity remains, with around 9 percent occupied by COVID patients.
In northeast Indiana, just over 7 percent of the ICU beds are occupied by those sick with COVID.

- Adams County: 2 new cases for 3,413 total. No new deaths for 54 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.6%. Adult population fully vaccinated 32.5%.
- Allen County: 54 new cases for 40,820 total. 1 new death for 676 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.7%. Adult population fully vaccinated 39%.
- DeKalb County: 3 new cases for 4,321 total. No new deaths for 85 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.8%. Adult population fully vaccinated 32.7%.
- Huntington County: 8 new cases for 3,919 total. No new deaths for 80 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.3%. Adult population fully vaccinated 39.2%.
- Kosciusko County: 6 new cases for 9,410 total. No new deaths for 117 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.7%. Adult population fully vaccinated 30.2%.
- LaGrange County: 4 new cases for 2,667 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10%. Adult population fully vaccinated 21.7%.
- Noble County: 5 new cases for 5,613 total. 1 new deaths for 84 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.9%. Adult population fully vaccinated 30.3%.
- Steuben County: 4 new cases for 3,878 total. No new deaths for 57 total. 7-day positivity rate at 12.1%. Adult population fully vaccinated 41.2%.
- Wabash County: 2 new cases for 3,541 total. No new deaths for 79 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.1%. Adult population fully vaccinated 33.9%.
- Wells County: No new cases for 2,915 total. No new deaths for 81 total. 7-day positivity rate at 1.9%. Adult population fully vaccinated 35.2%.
- Whitley County: 2 new cases for 3,961 total. No new deaths for 39 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.9%. Adult population fully vaccinated 36.7%.
