Museum Offers Art Tours To Early-Stage Alzheimer's Community

FWMoA's Amanda Martin and Alzheimer's Association Care Consultant, Lori Stock, feel that the "Meet Me at FWMoA" program will empower individuals with the disease as well as their care partners.

Fort Wayne Museum of Art has teamed with the Alzheimer's Association Greater Indiana Chapter to offer special monthly tours for individuals in the early stages of the disease, or other forms of dementia, and their care partners.

The program, called "Meet Me at FWMoA"  is modeled after New York City's own Museum of Modern Art's
"Meet me at MoMA" project, which was authored by the museum during its Alzheimer's project initiative from 2007-2014.

WBOI's Julia Meek met with Care Consultant, Lori Stock, and the Museum's Chief Operating Officer, Amanda Martin, to discuss last month's inaugural run, and the empowerment they hope the project will carry forward.
