NeighborLink Invites Community To Be A Good Neighbor
NeighborLink Fort Wayne's 2nd annual "Be a Good Neighbor Week," which began today, provides a perfect opportunity to learn firsthand how small volunteer projects can tranform neighborhoods in big ways.
The organization, which is busy with a variety of tasks involving thousands of volunteers, year round, has organized over ten specific projects that anyone can show up and volunteer for this week.
No special skills are required, other than team spirit, and the job list ranges from roofing and wheelchair ramp building to fire hydrant painting and yardwork.
To learn how it all works, WBOI's Julia Meek met with executive director, Andrew Hoffman, and community relations coordinator, Lyndsy Rae Porter, to discuss the organization's mission, the scope of these connections, and the far reaching benefits it provides, year round.
