Bluegrass Family Band Ready To Rattle The Barn

Credit Courtesy/St. John Family Band
Sophie, Josh and Halle St. John are hooked on bluegrass, and find that the family's barn is a perfect venue in which to share it.

The St. John Family Band is devoted to bluegrass music, as is their 2nd annual Rattle the Barn Concert which takes place this Saurday evening, in Roanoke.

Also on the playbill are Fort Wayne's Rosalind & the Way, and The Legendary Trainhoppers, as well as Lateral Blue, coming up to join the show from Nashville.

To learn how and why this genre has captivated the family, WBOI's Julia Meek met with Josh St. John and his daughters, Sophie, age 14, and Halle, age 12, to discuss their motivation for making music, and hosting this "down home" celebration.

Event Information:

Rattle the Barn 2018 is now sold out. You can connect with the band, and follow all oftheir events, including next year's barn concert announcements, on the St. John Family Band Facebook page.
