To Nigeria's Lady C It's All About Storytelling

Cordelia Okpei is a public broadcasting producer and host in Nigeria, presently visiting friends here in Fort Wayne.

A recent exploration of our city's assets and opportunities led Okpei directly to the Allen County Public Library, and that led to an offer from the WELT radio team of her own show.

Happy to oblige, Okpei has dubbed it Deliaz Cafe,  and it airs Fridays at noon, with encores Sunday evenings at six o'clock.

And when she returns home to Nigeria, she plans to continue the show remotely.

Meanwhile, when an unannounced visit to our station brought her together with WBOI's Julia Meek last month, Cordelia was invited back in to "talk shop" in the studio about her insatiable passion for storytelling, and the adventures that craft has afforded her.

You can connect with Cordelia on her official Facebook page and to find out more about Cordelia's local show, visit the Welt Radio Facebook page.

A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for forty years. Besides being WBOI's arts & culture reporter, she currently co-produces and hosts Folktales and Meet the Music.
