Four more Allen County residents have died from COVID-19, bringing the total number of deaths from the disease to 235.

With 148 additional positive cases, the total of those infected is now at 8,928.

Every other northeast Indiana county, with the exception of LaGrange, is seeing new COVID-19 diagnoses well above double-digits. Positivity rates in some counties have gone down a little, as the numbers of individuals tested have increased significantly.

COVID-19 hospitalizations state-wide are at 1,679, just 100 under the record set early on in the pandemic.

The vast majority of those who have died from the virus are over age 70, with nearly 77 percent of the deaths coming from that age group, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.
