Case Averages Over 2,000 For Past Week

Nursing home deaths are up statewide as Indiana continues to battle a resurgence of the novel coronavirus.

According to the Indiana State Department of Health dashboard, over the last two weeks, the numbers of deaths at statewide long-term care facilities are at their highest since June.

Those numbers reflect the continued rise in all metrics regarding Indiana’s battle against COVID-19: a seven-day average of more than 2,000 new cases per day, a moving average of 21 deaths per day, and a positivity rate of 7 percent.

Locally, Allen County is reporting three new deaths from the virus, bringing the total to 231. Eight-thousand 870 residents have tested positive, according to the Allen County Department of Health.

DeKalb County reported an additional death on Tuesday, a 70-year-old resident. The county has had 17 deaths and 813 positive cases, including 19 cases on Tuesday.

  • Huntington County--20 new for 454 total
  • Kosciusko County--91 new for 2,103 total
  • LaGrange County--11 new for 828 total
  • Noble County--five new for 1,245 total
  • Steuben County--13 new for 674 total
  • Wabash County--14 new for 459 total
  • Wells County--11 new for 473 total
  • Whitley County--nine new for 492 total
