Allen County has seen another increase in the number of patients testing positive for the coronavirus. That number, as of Thursday afternoon, is at 51. Two deaths have been reported.

According to the Indiana Department of Health, just over 16,000 Hoosiers have been tested for the disease. Three-thousand and 39 residents have tested positive, and 78 have died.

The Allen County Building Department will no longer be conducting in-person inspection of health care facilities and are enacting a number of other procedures to minimize interactions to avoid spreading the virus.

In the rest of northeast Indiana, the number of positive tests remain largely unchanged over the past few days. However, news of individuals stricken with the virus have been made public.

The Goshen News reported that West Noble Athletic Director Tom Schermerhorn was hospitalized with what is believed to be COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus.

On West Noble High School’s Facebook page, school officials asked all members of “Charger Nation” to wear West Noble gear on Friday in support for members of their community dealing with the virus.

Because of the transition of all in-person classes for the remainder of the semester, Manchester University is allowing students to take pass/no-pass grades in some classes for their semester grade.
