Allen County health officials reported 21 additional COVID-19 deaths Tuesday, with some of those deaths having occurred over the past two weeks.
It is not uncommon for a delay in reporting deaths, so a number of area counties have reported deaths that have occurred in recent days, weeks and even over the past month.
Another 254 residents have tested positive for the disease. So far, 334 Allen County residents have died, and 19,848 have tested positive, according to the Allen County Department of Health.
In Allen County, the majority of those testing positive for the virus remains those between the ages of 20-29, with 20.6 percent.. Those who have died have been predominantly between the ages of 80-89 with nearly 31 percent, and another 25 percent between the ages of 70-79.
Northeast Indiana’s positivity rate is approximately 14.5 percent, according to the Indiana State Department of Health.
Indiana COVID-19 hospitalizations are at an all time high, with 3,460 Hoosiers in the hospital with the illness. ICU bed availability is down to 25 percent statewide, and 15 percent in northeast Indiana.
Northeast Indiana totals for Dec. 1:
- Adams County: 40 new cases for 1,845 total. One new death for 24 total. 7-day positivity rate 8.0%.
- Allen County: 254 new cases for 19,848 total. 21 new deaths for 334 total. 7-day positivity rate 17.0%.
- DeKalb County: 44 new cases for 2,009 total. No new deaths for 35 total. 7-day positivity rate 18.0%.
- Huntington County: 25 new cases for 1,428 total. No new deaths for 10 total. 7-day positivity rate 10.3%.
- Kosciusko County: 78 new cases for 4,917 total. Three new deaths for 45 total. 7-day positivity rate 12.1%.
- LaGrange County: 12 new cases for 1,540 total. One new death for 33 total. 7-day positivity rate 18.5%.
- Noble County: 54 new cases for 2,789 total. Two new deaths for 49 total. 7-day positivity rate 12.3%.
- Steuben County: 31 new cases for 1,608 total. No new deaths for 15 total. 7-day positivity rate 10.9%.
- Wabash County: 36 new cases for 1,875 total. One new death for 23 total. 7-day positivity rate 16.6%.
- Wells County: 24 new cases for 1,392 total. Three new deaths for 33 total. 7-day positivity rate 13.5%.
- Whitley County: 25 new cases for 1,523 total. One new death for 16 total. 7-day positivity rate for 13.5%.
