COVID Vax Sites Closed Due To Weather, Case Counts Continue To Fall Around State, Region

Heavy snow and drifts closed COVID-19 vaccine sites in a number of northeastern Indiana counties on Tuesday as the number of newly-diagnosed cases of the illness continues to decline.

Closed locations include county sites in Adams, Kosciusko, Huntington, and LaGrange. Other sites include Community Health Clinic sites in Fort Wayne, and a number of area hospital sites.

 

Those impacted by the closures on Tuesday can reschedule by clicking on a link in their last email or text from the Indiana Department of Health or by calling 211 for assistance.

 

The 7-day positivity rate in northeast Indiana was down to 6.9 percent on Tuesday, and the total number of new cases reported stood at 116.

 

Six new deaths were reported in Allen County in a reconciliation between the state and local health department data, according to the Allen County Department of Health.

 

Additional deaths were reported in Kosciusko, Steuben and Wells counties.

 

LaGrange County saw no new cases reported on Tuesday, no new deaths and the lowest 7-day positivity rate at 2.3 percent.

 

Northeast Indiana totals for Feb. 16:

 

  • Adams County: 2 new cases for 3,176 total. No new deaths for 49 total. 7-day positivity rate at 3.0%.
  • Allen County: 59 new cases for 35,208 total. 6 new deaths for 624 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.3%.
  • DeKalb County: 6 new cases for 3,769 total. No new deaths for 77 total. 7-day positivity rate at 9.4%.
  • Huntington County: 7 new cases for 3,298 total. No new deaths for 76 total. 7-day positivity rate at 7.6%.
  • Kosciusko County: 11 new cases for 8,446 total. 1 new death for 106 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.4%.
  • LaGrange County: No new cases for 2,389 total. No new deaths for 70 total. 7-day positivity rate at 2.3%.
  • Noble County:  8 new cases for 5,012 total. No new deaths for 75 total. 7-day positivity rate at 5.4%.
  • Steuben County: 10 new cases for 3,324 total. 1 new death for 55 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.7%.
  • Wabash County: 3 new cases for 3,256 total. 1 new death for 74 total. 7-day positivity rate at 4.1%.
  • Wells County: 4 new cases for 2,509 total. 1 new death for 73 total. 7-day positivity rate at 6.3%.
  • Whitley County: 6 new cases for 3,410 total. No new deaths for 35 total. 7-day positivity rate at 10.9%.
